This pen is based on a 30-caliber shell with 5 metal finish options to choose from. This well-balanced ballpoint pen uses a realistic bolt action handle to advance and retract the refillable parker style ink refill securely in place. The handle is hand carved on a lathe by Odd Squad's wood worker Steve. Each pen will be unique due to the nature of wood grain and the hand turning process.
To personalize tell us what you would like laser engraved. We will be happy to laser engrave a fun graphic, business logo, 1–2-line sentence or a name. We will send back a jpg of the engraving image for your approval before we proceed. Once an order is placed it typically takes 1-4 days before your order will ship. Wood choices include:
* Bocote: is a favorite among pen-turners. It is a Mexican wood that is dense and oily and takes a great shine. Its black grain over a yellow/brown wood gives it a striking appearance. When turned some note that it smells like pickles!
* Chakte: is an exotic wood from Latin America. Has a nice orange color that deepens with age and exposure. Moderately hard but a joy to work despite a slight odor when working. Similar to Birch in hardness, workability, and texture.
* Osage: Osage Orange is extremely durable and is considered to be one of the most decay resistant woods in North America. It turns well, and also takes stains, glues and finishes well. These blanks range from golden to bright yellow.
* Surprise me: If you choose this option we will pick out the metal finish and wood type. We will surprise you with wood types that we have in our shop. These wood types include Fig, Olive Wood, Walnut, Black and White Ebony, Cherry, Purple Heart, Bubinga, and many more. You are in for a surprise!
